This is the Pre-GenCon Show where we talk about all the stuff we're going to do, might do, and don't have enough time to do while we're at GenCon. If you're not going, the highlight of this adventure will be David's Shopping Extravaganza, as he walks us around the dealer floor and talks about all the cool stuff he'd like to buy. Since you can get most of these online, you are not left out of the cool stuff portion. If you are going, now you have some idea where the Radio Free Hommlet crew will be(-ish) so you can find (or avoid) us at your leisure. All of the keen places that DM David mentions on his Shopping List are available as a PDF here so you don't need to furiously jot down notes on where to find them, but if you want specifics you'll need to listen.
So, not the Pre-GenCon show (we have another 2 weeks luckily), so instead we're discussing the Seeker - another Primal Controller. However, this one is very different than the Druid and makes a great "kid-brother" to the bow Ranger. We've also got one of DM David's Worldbuilding Affirmations where we walk through the process of creating some Epic Destinies for characters in the Voidshards.
Yes, there is no Adventure 52. If we get enough clamor, we may decide to do some filler. However, I (DM Kate) will take all the blame for the misnumbering (even though it's because DM Tim was playing around in GarageBand and messed up my folder system, yeah...that's it).
So anyway, in this Adventure we will look at the second of DM Kate's soapbox classes from the Miscellaneous Power Source, although the Runepriest claims to be Divine. If you heard the Monk (Adventure 49) then you get to hear it again. At the end of the Map Room there is a contest/giveaway announcement so put your thinking caps on and email us at newsdesk@hommlet.com. Now that the birthday celebrations are over (Didn't you get the cake?) the crew of Radio Free Hommlet continues the trek through Player's Handbook 3 with a look at the iconic psionic class - the Psion. Wow! Two years of Radio Free Hommlet! So this adventure looks completely different. It's a Newsdesk with more chattiness than usual and then three separate interviews we got at ReaperCon in Denton, TX. We'll be back to our normal crunchiness next time, but take this episode to learn a little more about the cast and celebrate with us. This Adventure takes the RFH crew on a discussion of our long awaited Martial Controller who ends up being a Psionic Striker, AKA the Monk. This class sparked some debate among the cast, some of which bled over to the recording so you can hear DM Kate gripe about the Miscellaneous Power Source too. The Newsdesk features a short PSA for gearing up for con season. And speaking of conventions, we are at ReaperCon in Denton, TX where we will be recording Adventure 50.

Since DM Tim and DM Kate were forced to visit the wilds of Houston and missed an episode, Kate is sneaking one back onto the schedule. It helps that she's the one who knows how to use all the secret files and edit these things. So coming off the bench is the adventure that should have aired before we started Player's Handbook 3 classes where we discuss some of the things we have learned regarding Martial Classes over the past 2 years. We discuss builds, optimization, how they all fit together and generally ramble a bit as usual.
The crew of Radio Free Hommlet returns this week after an unexpected absence to talk about the Ardent in the Map Room. We also finally have the Rodney Thompson interview (even though DM Kate still had to edit it). We also talk a little about our upcoming trip to ReaperCon where we will be recording Adventure 50!

Our intrepid DMs begin their trek through Player's Handbook 3 by looking at the new races and racial paragon paths that are presented. Along the way we look at how the races have had some power creep, some general notes on worldbuilding, and our overall thoughts on PHB 3.
This Adventure sees the Radio Free Hommlet crew facing their toughest challenge ever. We make BAD characters...really bad...exceptionally bad characters. Well, actually we just tell you how not to make the mistakes that turn a character from an interesting part of the team to someone you really hope the dragon kills so he quits being a drain on everyone else's resources, thank you very much. So whether you're making your first character or your fiftieth, the suggestions we present will give you some tips on making your character fulfill his or her role so the math doesn't get in the way of the fun.
We also resurrected the Tactical Analysis Desk with a spot on the often overlooked ability Aid Another. It's not just for Skill Challenges anymore!
In this Adventure the Radio Free Hommlet crew takes a step away from all the nice, crunchy bits they are so known for and talk about the softer side of D&D. Yes, Hommlet, we will help you optimize your fluff. As if that wasn't enough, we ramble through a Newsdesk and DMs Kate and Jackson help DM David create some custom Paragon Paths for the Voidshards setting in a Worldbuilding Affirmations.
On a side note, starting next Adventure we will be publishing every other Thursday instead of Wednesday due to work commitments for DM Tim.
This Adventure takes us on a walkthrough of Martial Power 2, even though it hasn't been released yet thanks to DM Tim's trip to DDXP. He also brought back an interview and a chat about the Battle Interactive that took place there for your listening enjoyment. But through it all, we'll be here to guide you through this universe of unarmed Fighters, ranged Warlords, and sniping Rogues - or at least give you an extra towel.
As DM Tim heads off to DDXP, the crew discusses the ups and downs of fighting solos (particularly dragons) that we have acquired over the past year and a half. This time the RFH crew finishes up our DM trilogy as we talk about the Whats, Whens and Whys of Monster Design. We also talk about some news from the Reaper folks as well as current contests both here and at Wizard's. DM David presents some Worldbuilding Feat Design questions and talkthrough to finish the adventure out.
After spending last adventure talking about Campaign and Adventure Design we break it down even smaller as we discuss Encounter Design. Wow...we blather on for quite a bit in this adventure as we discuss Primal Power. It's full of new builds, new powers, new feats and new fun for all of the primal classes (except Seeker - they'll just have to wait). We spend a lot of time on the barbarian and some of his new abilites as well as the Ranger's new favorite leader - the Eagle Shaman plus thinking through some new ways of playing the different classes.
This adventure takes us on a walk through the Dungeon Master's Guide 2 with an extended stop-off at skill challenges. DMG2 spends a lot of time on this mechanic which has been both loved and hated by DMs since 4th Edition came out 16 months ago, so we do too. In the Build This! DM Jackson and DM David discuss some of the new content from PHB3 and DDI that is being previewed with a Revenant Assassin whose files can be found here.
This adventure brings us a look at the bane and boon of all DMs - the House Rule. House rules can fix the gaps that aren't explicitly covered by the RAW or allow extra coolness for your PCs. The cast of Radio Free Hommlet presents some of the house rules we use on a regular basis as well as some thoughts on how they have developed through the sessions of playing. We finish up with DM David's Worldbuilding Affirmations as we walk through the creation of custom races for his Voidshards world.

In this adventure we finally finish up the PHB2 classes as we discuss the Avenger. He's a divine striker that can really lay down the hurt if his party is willing to give him half a chance - and even if they aren't. We also have a Build This! by DM Jackson and DM David on a Gnome Warden inspired by a new mini from Reaper. More information on this characer as well as his character builder files can be found here. (As a note from DM Kate who does the editing, the first part of the Build This! is kinda rough since I left them to record while I went elsewhere to edit. I think the recording computer felt slighted because the second half where I was watching it is much smoother.) There's a mini-contest mentioned (as in "small" not as in "minis") and the general amount of shenanagains of your four hosts.
This adventure brings us home again after a GenCon filled with stress, announcements, products, good games and bad. In this adventure we encounter the Barbarian. We have a special guest of ReaperBryan from Reaper Miniatures sitting in with us as we cover this primal striker (with defender hit points and a minion propulsion system). DM David also kicks off a new chapter in his Worldbuilding Affirmations as he works through the process of building a completely new campaign setting with DM Jackson as his first helper.
A note of warning: the volume on this one is rather soft. Apparently DM Kate got a little carried away on setting levels and forgot to balance between all the parts.

As you've guessed, this adventure's Map Room takes a trip through the Monster Manual (and some other books) as the Radio Free Hommlet cast talks about their favorite monsters, monster roles, and using monsters from a DM perspective as well as killing them. In addition to the Newsdesk, this adventure features a brand new segment called Build This! where cast members (in this case DM Tim and DM Jackson) create and level a character up through level 10.
This is just a quick announcement of the winners (finally!) of our character creation contest held on the d20 radio forums as well as the announcement of a new contest to end 1 May with a really cool prize. In this adventure we tackle the Paragon Paths laid out in the Player's Handbook with a few jaunts off into other books when the fancy strikes us. We'll go through each class talking about what we like and don't like for paragon paths, as well as some feats to pay attention to as you plan out your character. Also, we have a Worldbuilding Affirmation from DM David .
This adventure includes an informal interview with some of the DMs from DDXP regarding the rules their players have most often misunderstood. The conversation veers off in several places in true Tim and Kate style. Due to the open nature of this interview, the audio is fairly soft (except for DM Tim).
